Early on in this writer's military career, he's already experienced a number of TDYs (Temporary Duty Assignments) and deployments all of which would take him away from his new & young family. This poem is a contribution to the sacrifices that Military spouses go through day in and day out. Freedom is anything but free. Those men and women & their families of the Armed Forces are deserving of so much more. This poem is my modest attempt at recognizing the undaunting task those families go through.
